The Office Visit
Visiting a doctor for the first time after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease can be challenging. Consider bringing a friend, family member, or caregiver with you for support. Having someone you know at your appointment may make you feel more relaxed. You can ask them to drive you to your appointment, take notes, or bring a list of your current medications.
You may want to think about the following questions before you meet with your doctor:

What should you tell your doctor about your symptoms?

What treatment options are available?

Where can you learn more about Parkinsons disease?

Is there a support group for patients like you?
Download and print our easy-to-use Doctor Visit Worksheet (PDF) and take it along on your next visit to the doctor.
